"This consciousness is the spirit of guidance of each one. Be this one." (Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, 108)
I was talking with an amazing woman today and was expounding on my upcoming global travels. She recommended a text she had been reading from a "philosopher" from the 6th century (who's name escapes me). She began describing his defense or presentation of dualism from the stance of the titles the 'logical spirit' and the 'animal spirit' in man. I listened in interest, more enjoying just connecting with this woman in the moment than really having any feeling about the content of the conversation.
Later, I felt a lingering spirit, not animal nor logical; I felt a repressive spirit of polarization. While I sat and enjoyed watching my mind wrestle with this energy, I was and am taken to an important lesson in our time- dropping into spirit IS spirituality. We live in a dualistic world, and world whos appearance is of "this" and "that." The deeper layers are approached via dualistic paths (emphasizing an inner stuggle as described above, or a non-dual paths (uniting all aspects of oneself and the world and seeing interconnection); the comparison of such paths against is like 'comparing' languages- which is better, Spanish or French? It is a ridiculous conversation.
The tantric sutra at the beginning of this blog post points the meditator to such a truth- go within and feel; all else will come through this. Drop into the heart and connect; all questions are fingers pointing to the answer.
So happy to share this inner process with all of you! Meet me in your heart! Namaste!
